KEENE, N.H. 1/12/02- Andrea Arsenault (Dover, NH) scored 18
points and Aly Araque (Hopewell Junction, NY) and Sarah Linn
(Brattleboro, Vt.) finished with 14 points each to lead the Keene
State College women's basketball team to a 81-57 Little East
Conference victory over UMA-Dartmouth in Keene on Saturday.
It was the fourth straight win for KSC (9-4, 4-1 LEC) while
UMA-Dartmouth drops to 3-10 (1-4 LEC). Leading 41-39 at the 14:50
mark of the second half, the Owls pulled away from the Corsairs
with a 24-7 run. Hayley Alaimo (Ellington, CT), who finished with
13 points, and Arsenault had seven points each during the run that
gave KSC a 65-46 lead with 5:48 to play.
Erika Forsberg (Laconia, NH) had a team-high 11 rebounds and
Linn finished with eight assists for the Owls.
Jess Cummings (Middleboro, MA.) had a game-high 20 points and 10
rebounds to lead UMD. Cara Ferreira (Marion, MA.) also added 10
rebounds.
Keene State has not lost to the Corsairs in nine meetings
between the two teams.
Keene State will host LEC power Eastern Connecticut on Tuesday
(5:30 p.m.) at Spaulding Gym.
