BOSTON, MA. 1/19/02- The Keene State College women's basketball
team lost a 66-50 Little East Conference game to host UMA-Boston at
the Clark Athletic Center on Saturday.
Seiko Kudo had 20 points and Andreen Gilpin added 19 points and
16 rebounds to lead the Beacons. Hayley Alaimo had a season-high 17
points, including five three-pointers, to top the Owls.
Keene State falls to 9-6 (4-3 LEC) while UMA-Boston improves to
10-6 (3-4 LEC). It is the first time the Beacons have beaten the
Owls in LEC play. KSC had won the previous nine meetings.
After leading early, the Owls fell behind 31-22 at half-time and
could never make a run at the Beacons. KSC shot just 28% from the
field and had a hard time coping with the bigger UMB front-line.
The Beacons had a 49-38 advantage on the boards.
Keene State will be at rival Plymouth State (5:30 p.m.).
