KEENE, NH 1/29/02 - Andrea Arsenault (Dover, NH) led a balanced
Owl attack with 18 points in Keene State College's 93-46
non-conference victory over New England College in women's
basketball action at Spaulding Gym on Tuesday.
Four other Owls, Aly Araque (15 points), Nicole Fargione (13
points), Hayley Alaimo (13 points) and Erika Forsberg (10 points)
also scored in double-figures as every KSC player got on the score
sheet. Forsberg also had a team-high eight rebounds and Cathy
Mechare and Shannon Clarke finished with seven assists each.
The Owls (11-7) gradually pulled away from the Pilgrims (7-10)
in the first half. They went up 23-11 at the nine minute mark on
the way to building a comfortable 42-20 cushion at halftime.
KSC hit 12 three-pointers in the game and shot a scorching 21-38
(.553) from the field in the second half.
Jenny Bronson (Morgan, Vt.) had 16 points and six rebounds and
Emily Perkins added 12 points, including four three-pointers to
lead NEC.
Keene State has defeated New England College in all five games
played by the two teams.
The Owls will be at Roger Williams University on Thursday for a
6 p.m. game.
