'KEENE, N.H. 10/10/02 - Kaitlyn Henley (Somers, N.Y.) had two
goals and an assist to lead Keene State College to a 4-1
non-conference field hockey victory over Amherst College in Keene,
N.H. on Thursday.
Keene State improves to 8-5 while Amherst College falls to 3-6.
After Christine Ryan scored to give Amherst a 1-0, the Owls
erupted for three goals in a span of six minutes to take control of
the game.
Henley scored on a rebound off a corner to tie the game, and
Annie Timson (Derry, N.H.) put the Owls on top 2-1 just over a
minute later with a shot from the right side of the net.
Henley completed the uprising with her second of the game and sixth
goal of the season to give KSC a 3-1 halftime advantage.
Executing their corners throughout the game, the Owls added a
goal in the second half when Suzanne Kohler (Southbury, CT)
converted a pass from Nichole Dallas (Marlow, N.H.).
Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me.) (three saves) with late help from
Michelle Codding (Jerico, Vt.) were in goal for KSC. Anne
McMullin (three saves) and K.C. Cosentino (one save) each
played a half in goal for the Jeffs.
Keene State will host Southern ME in a key LEC/Alliance game on
Saturday (1:30 p.m.).
