'KEENE, N.H. 10/23/02 - Junior defender Nichole Dallas (Marlow,
N.H.) had two goals and an assist to lead the Keene State College
field hokcey team to a 5-1 Little East Conference victory over
Westfield State in Keene on Wednesday.
KSC improves to 11-6 (6-2 LEC) while Westfield State falls to
3-11 (1-7 LEC).
Dominated play for the start, the Owls took a 2-0 half-time lead
on goals by Annie Timson (Derry, N.H.) and Tanya Strong (Hatfield,
MA.) It was the team-leading 10th goal of the season for Timson and
and Strong's eighth of the year.
Dallas' first goal of the game pushed Keene State's lead to 3-0
to open the second half. Following a Westfield State goal,
Justina Wentworth (Keene, N.H.) made it 4-1 with her first tally of
the season. Dallas rounded out the scoring with a coast-to-coast
rush for her second goal of the game. She now has four goals and a
team-high eight assists.
Timson and Wentworth, along with seniors Cathy ready
(Marshfield, MA), Sue Kohler (Southbury, CT), Melissa Harnch-Smith
(Newburyport, MA.) anf goalie Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me.) were
playing in their last home regular-season game for the Owls.
Caroll and Michelle Codding (Jerico, Vt.) did not record a save
in goal for KSC.
The Owls will be at UMA-Dartmouth on Saturday (1 p.m.) for a key
Little East contest.
