'NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA. - 10/26/02- The Keene State College
women's volleyball team secured fourth place in the Little East
Conference and a first-ever home tournament game with a pair of
victories in a LEC round-robin match held Saturday at
UMA-Dartmouth.
With the wins, KSC (11-5, 4-3 LEC) extended its winning streak
to six matches.
In their opening match of the day, the Owls defeated host
UMA-Dartmouth 3-0 (30-24, 30-23 and 30-14). Kristin Mullins
(Turners Falls, MA.) had eight kills, and 15 digs and Deborah
Hughes (Ashland, N.H.) added 10 kills and three blocks in the
match.
KSC swept UMA-Boston 3-0 (30-21, 30-15, and 30-18) in its second
match. Abbe Robichaud (Gilford, N.H.) had 11 kills and eight
digs and Mullins finished with seven kills and 18 digs to lead the
Owls.
KSC, which finished last in the LEC last season, will host the
tournament game on Wednesday Nov. 6 (7 p.m.) at Spaulding Gym
against Rhode Island College.
Keene State plays at Worcester State on Monday (6 p.m.).
