'KEENE, NH 10/5/02 - Junior forward Tanya Strong's (Hatfield,
MA) goal just over five minutes into the game stood up as the
game-winner in Keene State College's 1-0 Little East/Alliance field
hockey victory over Eastern Connecticut State University in Keene
on Saturday.
Strong's goal, her fourth of the season, came when she hit in a
crossing ball from teammate Kaitlyn Henley (Somers, N.Y.).
The Owls had numerous opportunities to extend their lead, but could
beat Warrior goalie Jennifer Makwana (Stamford, CT) who finished
with 15 saves. KSC goalie Amy Carroll (Brunswick, Me) made just one
save to notch her fourth shutout of the season.
It was the second straight win for KSC (7-4, 3-1 LEC).
Eastern CT falls to 4-5 (3-2 LEC).
Keene State host Amherst College on Thursday (7 p.m.).
