'SALEM, MA.11/02/02 - Annie Timson's (Derry, N.H.) goal with
5:14 to play lifted Keene State College to a 3-2 Little East
Conference field hockey victory over host Salem State College on
Saturday.
The Owls (13-7, 7-2 LEC) finish second in the LEC standings and
will host UMA-Dartmouth in a quarterfinal tournament game on
Tuesday at 6 p.m.
Keene State took a 2-0 halftime lead on a penalty stroke by
Nichole Dallas (Marlow, N.H.) and a goal by Michelle McInerney
(Hampton, N.H.).
After Salem State came back to tie the game on a pair of goals
by Jayna Lucia in the second half, Timson got the game-winner for
KSC, her team-leading 13th of the season. Timson and Dallas
each had a goal and an assist in the contest.
Amy Carroll (Brunswick, ME) tuned aside two shots in goal for
KSC.
Salem State falls to 2-11 (2-6 LEC).
