'KEENE, N.H. 11/22/02  –  Chris Timson (Beverly, MA.) netted a career-high 26 points and Derek Swenson (Attleboro, MA.) added 19 points to lead the Keene State College men's basketball team to a season-opening 112-84 victory over Castleton (Vt.) State College in a first round game of the KSC Tip-Off Tournament Friday night  at Spaulding Gym.

The Owls opened up a 60-39 halftime lead and coasted to the victory.  Kyle Purinton (Northwood, N.H.) finished with 14 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for KSC, which out rebounded Castleton State 48-31. 

All 15 players on the Owls roster got in the scoring column.

KSC will take on Curry College in the Championship game on Saturday at 3 p.m. The consolation contest between ME-Machias and Castleton State will be played at 1 p.m.
