RV/No. 13 Owls Roll Over Rival Plymouth State 83-64

KEENE, N.H. 2/12/02 - Playing in his final home regular season game, senior Dave Stantial (Beverly, MA.) had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Chris Timson (Beverly, MA.) added 19 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Keene State men's basketball team to a 83-64 Little East Conference victory over rival Plymouth State College before a sold out (2,100) crowd at Spaulding Gym on Tuesday.

Ranked second in the Northeast Region, Keene State improves to 21-2 (12-1 LEC) while Plymouth State (14-9, 7-6 LEC) saw its three game winning streak come to an end.

Leading 38-27 at half-time, KSC withstood a mild run that got the Panthers to within eight (53-45) at the 10:43 mark, before pulling away. Stantial connected on back-to-back three-pointers and Jason Levecque (Westbrook, Me.) hit a driving lay-up that put the Owls up 65-46 with just under eight minutes to play.

Bennett Pawlusiak (Bedford, NH) had a fine overall game for KSC finishing with eight points, 10 rebounds and four assists. Frankie Finklea (Dorchester, MA.) had a game-high 21 points and Jason Blackburn (Hudson, MA.) finished with 18 points and eight rebounds to lead the Panthers.

KSC swept both games from PSC this season. The Owls defeated the Panthers 90-77 earlier in the year in Plymouth, NH.

Keene State completes its regular-season on the road at UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday (3 p.m.). PSC wraps up its regular season at home against Rhode Island College (3 p.m.).
