FT. MYERS, FLA. 3/23/02 - Keene State College and Oneonta (N.Y) State College battled to a 0-0 scoreless tie in an eight-inning softball game played Saturday in Ft. Myers, Fla.

The Owls conclude their Spring Week trip with an 8-2-1 record. 

Missy Zimmerman (Leyden, MA.) pitched all eight innings for KSC giving up five hits and striking out seven. Oneonta's Liz Scimeca matched her on the mound allowing just three hits and fanning eight Owl batters.  Oneonta's record goes to 6-3.

"It was a great pitchers dual and a great game to watch, but a terrible game to coach," said KSC Coach Charlie Beach. 

KSC's best opportunity to score came in the first inning when Shauna Mullen (Hooksett, NH) hit a two-out triple. Adria Reynolds (Portsmouth, NH) and Jan Rissacher (Voorheesville, N.Y.) had the other Owl hits.

Returning back to Keene, the Owls are scheduled to host Springfield College on Thursday (2:30 p.m.).
