KEENE, N.H. 9/19/02- Sophomore forward Kaitlyn Henley
(Somers, N.Y.) had two goals to lead Keene State College to a 3-0
victory over Trinity College in a non-conference field hockey game
played Thursday in Keene.
KSC improves to 3-2 on the season while Trinity falls to 0-3.
The Owls scored all three of their goals in the first
half. Henley put KSC up 1-0 with a blast from 12 yard
out. Less than five minutes later, Justina Wentworth (Keene,
N.H.), put in a rebound to make it a 2-0 game.
After Melissa Harnch-Smith (Newburyport, MA.) was denied on a
penalty shot by Trinity goalie Gwen Gillespie, Henley netted her
second of the game and team-leading fourth goal of the
season. Nichole Dallas (Marlow, N.H.) had an assist on the
play.
Senior goalie Amy Carroll (Brunswick, ME) finished with six
saves to notch her first shutout of the season. Gillespie
stopped 10 shots for the Bantams.
KSC will be at Fitchburg State for its first LEC/Alliance game
of the season on Saturday (1 p.m.).
