'KEENE, N.H. 9/24/02 - Keene State College shutout Framingham State College 5-0 to post its second Little East Conference/Alliance victory of the season, Tuesday night in Keene, NH.
Annie Timson (Derry, N.H.) scored 59 seconds into the game on a pass by Nichole Dallas (Marlow, NH) to give the Owls the 1-0 lead. Michelle Leblanc (N Pomfret, VT) gave the Owls' a 2-0 halftime lead on a direct corner from Melissa Harnch-Smith (Newburyport, MA).
Following halftime, Abbi Pernaa (Ashby, MA) crossed the ball to Annie Timson who netted her second goal of the game. Sue Kohler (Southbury, CT) scored her first goal of the season on a corner opportunity from Nichole Dallas to increase the Owls' lead to 4-0. Tanya Strong (Hatfield, MA) found the back of the net on a deflection by Melissa Harnch-Smith to give KSC a 5-0 shutout.
Suzanne Kohler and Carly Sweeney (Gardner, MA) led the defensive charge for the Owls, which out-shot the Rams 21-0. Amy Carroll recorded her third shutout of the season. Megan Johnson had 16 saves in goal for FSC.
It was the third straight win for Keene State (5-2, 2-0 LEC). FSC goes to 0-7, 0-1 LEC.
Keene State travels to Williams on Thursday (4:15 p.m.).
