Owls Fall To Plymouth State In Overtime 1-0

'PLYMOUTH STATE, N.H.  9/28/02 - Sophomore Amanda Gutowski (Conway, N.H.) scored the only goal of the game with 25 seconds remaining in the first overtime Saturday, leading the Plymouth State College field hockey team to a 1-0 triumph over rival Keene State College at Arnold Field.

The win improves PSC to 6-1 overall and 3-0 in LEC games, while the Owls drop to 6-4 and 2-1 in conference play.  The Panthers have now won 12 consecutive LEC games, dating back to last year's loss at Keene State.

Plymouth State had a 26-6 advantage in shots on goal, including a 22-4 margin in regulation play.  PSC finally got the game-winner in the first extra frame with Gutowski deflecting home a shot by Kristie Wheeler.

Senior Amy Carroll (Brunswick, ME) recorded 17 saves for KSC.  Ellen Ward made five saves to post her fourth shutout for PSC.

Keene State returns home to host Middlebury College (6 p.m.) on Wednesday.
