'NORTH DARTMOUTH, MA 1/18/03 – Junior
forward Andrea Arsenault (Dover, N.H.) scored a career-high 27
points and pulled down 12 rebounds to lead the Keene State College
women's basketball team to a 86-77 Little East Conference victory
over UMA-Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, MA., on Saturday.
It was the fifth straight win for KSC (10-4, 3-2 LEC), which has
not lost to the Corsairs since joining the LEC in the 1997-98
season. (A span that includes 11 games). UMD falls
to 3-11 (0-5 LEC).
Freshman Stacey Morse (Lebanon, N.H.) netted a season best 17
points, Hayley Alaimo (Ellington, CT) added 13 points, and Brittany
Faulkner (Lebanon, N.H.) finished with 11 points and five assists
for KSC.
The Owls went on a 15-4 run over the final seven minutes of the
first half to take a 43-36 lead into the locker room.
Arsenault scored 12 straight points in a 15-4 Owl run early in the
second half as KSC extended its lead to ten points (58-48). Using
its press, KSC took its biggest lead (19 points) with 9:46 to play.
Keene State tied a record with 11 blocks in the game.
Julie Tardif (Atkinson, N.H.) led the way with three rejects.
Kelly O'Neil led the Corsairs with 19 points while Maura
Armstrong finished with a game-high 14 rebounds.
Keene State will be at nationally ranked Eastern CT on Tuesday
(5:30 p.m.).
