'The Keene State College women's volleyball team lost a 3-1 LEC
match to Eastern Connecticut State University at Spaulding Gym on
Wednesday.
The Owls dropped the first game 30-17, but came back to take the
second game 30-22. KSC played hard in the last two matches
but couldn't come up with the win against the Warriors. The
final two game scores were 30-25 and 30-21.
Sophomore Shelly Ellis (Hampton, NH) led KSC's offense with
seven kills, one assist, one ace, 16 digs, and two blocks.
Freshman Genna Florkowski (East Northport, NY) added nine kills,
one ace, 13 digs, one block, while junior Stacey Kroon
(Bryantville, Mass.) finished with six kills, three aces, 16 digs,
and two blocks.
Junior Jessica Leifert (Winsted, CT) had 17 kills, 18 digs;
Freshman Amy Bullock (Riverhead, NY) added 15 kills, 11 digs, and
freshman Beata Zieba (Bellport, NY) finished with nine kills, 14
digs, 19 assists, and five aces to lead Eastern Conn.
Keene State (5-7. 1-3 LEC) travels to Westfield State for a
non-conference game on Saturday (11 a.m.).
