Strong Goal Gives KSC 2-1 OT Win Over Trinity

'Hartford, Conn. 10/16/03 - Senior forward Tanya Strong (Hatfield, Mass.) netted the overtime winner 12:46 into the first overtime period to give the visiting Keene State Owls a 2-1 victory over the host Trinity College Bantams in

field hockey action this evening at Robin L. Sheppard Field.

 

Trinity falls to 3-6 overall, while the Owls, improve to 10-5 overall.

 

Sophomore forward Nichole Dallas (Marlow, NH.) led the way with a goal and an assist for the owls.  Freshman goalie Catlin Baril (Canton, Mass.) was strong in net for the owls with nine saves.  Freshman forward Emily Steele

(Longmeadow, Mass.) provided the lone goal for the Bantams at 6:49 of the second half. 

 

Senior goalkeeper Gwen Gillespie (Bratenahl, Ohio) stopped

five shots to keep the Bantams close.
