'KEENE, N.H. 10/20/03 - The Keene State College women's
volleyball team dropped a 3-1 non-conference match to Franklin
Pierce College on Monday at Spaulding Gym.
KSC goes to a 7-14 record.
After losing the first two matches, 30-13 and 30-18, the Owls
rallied to take the third game 30-27. KSC played hard in the
last match by overcoming a 19-28 deficit, but couldn't come up with
a win against the Ravens. The final match score was
33-31.
Freshman Genna Florkowski (E Northport, N.Y.) led the Owls with
11 kills, one ace, 22 digs, and one block. Lauren Graham
(Port Jefferson, N.Y.) added two kills, 36 assists, four aces,
seven digs, and three blocks, while Shelly Ellis (Hampton, N.H.)
finished with 13 kills, 14 digs, and three
blocks.
Freshman Christina Collett (Tombstone, AZ) had 22 kills, 13
digs, and two aces, Erin Moseley (Billerica, MA) added 12 kills,
two aces, and two blocks, and Briana Bates (Belmont, N.H.) finished
with 20 kills, one ace, and four digs to lead Franklin Pierce
College.
KSC travels to Western Connecticut State University for the
Little East Round Robin on Saturday (1/3:30 p.m.).
