KEENE, N.H. 2/11/03 - The Keene State College men's basketball team extended its winning to four game with a 87-58 Little east Conference victory over Eastern Connecticut State University at Spaulding Gymnasium on Tuesday.
Chris Timson (Beverly, MA.) had 17 points and seven rebounds and Matt Wheeler (Shrub Oak, N.Y.) finished with 15 points and eight rebounds to lead KSC (16-5, 8-3 LEC). Freshman Sean Sullivan (Athol, MA.) added 12 points and Alphonse Michalski scored 11 points to round out the double-figure scorers for KSC.
Keene State jumped out to a 40-27 halftime in the game. After the Warriors got the lead down to 13 points (58-45), the Owls answered with an 11-0 run to push their advantage up to 23 points (68-45) with seven minutes to play.
Michael Kipphut (Meriden, CT) led ECSU (6-15, 4-7 LEC) with 17 points.
Keene State plays a non-conference game at Lasell College on Thursday. (6 p.m.).
