'NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team
picked up a 3-0 (30-27, 30-19, 30-21) non-conference home win over
Granite State rival Keene State at the Coffin Field House.
Kathy Couture (SO, Greenfield, MA/Greenfield HS) led all players
with 11 kills, while teammate Anne Coulter (SO, Hudson, NH/Bishop
Guertin HS) chipped in eight kills and three blocks to the third
straight victory for the Chargers (7-3). Mary Ann Prescott
(SR, Laconia, NH/Laconia HS) and Karen Tryon (JR, Tilton,
NH/Winnisquam Regional HS) tallied 13 and 10 digs, respectively as
Jessica Niebuhr (FR, Manitou Springs, CO/Manitou Springs HS)
recorded 27 assists, 10 digs, and four service aces.
Shelly Ellis (SO, Hampton, NH/Winnacunnet HS) paced the Owls
(4-5) with 19 digs, five kills, and three blocks. Genna
Florkowski (FR, East Northport, NY) compiled 12 digs and four
kills, and Lauren Graham (SO, Port Jefferson, NY/Comsewogue HS)
distributed 13 assists.
Both teams are off until Saturday. Colby-Sawyer will host
Endicott and Salve Regina in an 11:00 a.m. Commonwealth Coast
Conference tri-match, while the Owls are headed to Troy, New York
to play Russell Sage and Cazenovia.
