'KEENE, N.H. 9/6/03 - The Keene State College women's volleyball
team posted its first two wins of the season in the second day of
the KSC Invitational held Saturday at Spaulding Gym.
Keene State (2-1) defeated Russell Sage 3-2 (30-25, 22-30,
21-30, 30-23, 15-12) in a thrilling five game match. Nicole
Geyselaers (Cornwall Bridge, Conn.) led Keene State with 17 kills,
four digs and four blocks. Stephanie Benard (Tilton, N.H.)
added eight kills, one ace and 22 digs. Lauren Graham (Port
Jefferson, N.Y.) finished with three kills, 29 assists, 10 aces and
16 digs.
The Owls swept Babson College (3-0) (30-24, 30-21, 31-29) in
their second match. Lauren Graham (Port Jefferson, N.Y.) led
Keene State with 26 assists, five aces and four digs. Lynn
Therrien (Rochester, N.H.) added five kills, two aces and twelve
digs. Shelly Ellis (Hampton, N.H.) finished five kills, three
aces, 19 digs and one block.
In other matches, Rivier College swept Babson College (3-0)
(30-17, 30-20, 30-21). Russell Sage defeated Rivier College
(3-1) (28-30, 30-28, 30-24, 30-27).
