'KEENE, N.H. 1/24/04 - Keene State College's women's indoor
track team set two school records at the Dartmouth Invitational
held in Hanover, N.H. on Saturday.
Shannon O'Brien (Tilton, N.H.) set a new Owl mark (1:20.91) with
her first place finish in the 500-meter race. Ellen Banning
(Hillsborough, N.H.) also put her name in the record book in the
shot put (11.10-meters). She placed fourth in the
event.
Nicole Geyselaers (Cornwall Bridge, Conn.) ran away from the
competition with her first place finish in the 60-m dash (8.09) and
also set high marks in the pit placing second in the triple jump
(10.93 m) and third in the long jump (5.07 m).
The KSC men's team placed well in distance events. Dave
Bridgewater (Unionville, Conn.) topped the field in the 3,000-meter
run (8:39.87), while teammates Ryan Gough (Billerica, Mass.)
(8:51.39) and Josh Ferenc (Westmoreland, N.H.) (8:56.14) placed
third and fourth respectively. Ferenc also came away with a
first place win in the mile (4.24.55). Sophomore David
Raymond (Princeton, Mass.) took third in the mile (4:26.62) and the
800-meters (2:00.70).
The Owls will be at the Wesleyan University on Saturday.
