KEENE, N.H. 10/2/04 - Nichole Garneau (Carroll, N.H.) scored a
pair of goals to lead the Keene State College field hockey team to
a 4-2 Little East Conference victory over Eastern Connecticut at
Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Keene State improves to 3-5 (2-1 LEC) while Eastern Conn. drops
to 3-6 (1-2 LEC).
Keene State scored the first four goals of the game. Katy
Pokrywka (Roxbury, Conn.) and Garneau netted goals 1:23 apart early
in the first half to give KSC a 2-0 lead. Garneau added her second
of the game and third of the season before the end of the half.
Kaitlin Henely (Somers, N.Y.) put KSC up 4-0 early in the second
half on an unassisted goal.
Elena Lupone (Clinton, Conn.) scored both Warriors goals in the
second half. It was her sixth and seventh goals of the season.
Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) (six saves) and Michlle Codding
(Jericho, Vt.) (two saves) both saw action in goal for KSC. Damaly
Auguste (Stanford, Conn.) started in goals for ECSU and made one
save. Jessica Roberst (Westbrook, Conn.) came in at the 24:16 makr
of the first half and finished with 10 saves.
Keene State is at Bridgewater State on Tuesday (4 p.m.).
