Bridgewater, MA - Keene State junior forward Katy Pokrywka
(Roxbury, CT) tallied a goal and added an assist to lead the
visiting Owls of Keene State College to a 3-1 win over the host
Bears of Bridgewater State in Little East Conference field hockey
action from BSC's Swenson Field.
The Owls, who improved to 4-5 overall and 3-1 in the Little
East, also received goals from sophomores Steph Georgevits
(Concord, NH) and Nichole Garneau (Twin Mountain, NH). Keene State
keeper Sara Joyce (Hampstead, NH) made four saves to earn the
victory in goal for the Owls.
BSC freshman forward Ashley Panzini (Saugus, MA) tallied her
first career collegiate goal to account for the Bears only score.
Senior goaltender Lauren Mazzola (Westwood, MA) took the loss
between the pipes for the Bears despite making 13 saves. With the
loss BSC dropped to 1-5 on the year and 1-2 in conference play.
The Little East schedule continues for the Bears on Thursday as
they entertain Framingham State College at 4:00 PM. Keene State
will also be in action on Thursday as they host non-conference foe
Amherst College at 7:00 PM.
