CONCORD, N.H. 11/30/04 - Sean Sullivan (Athol, Mass.) scored his
team-high 16 points in the first half to lead the Keene State
College men's basketball team to a 95-63 non-conference victory
over New England College in the fifth annual Jacob's Bridge through
Autism New England Division III Challenge held Tuesday at New
Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord.
The Owls, who have never lost a game in the tournament, improve
to 3-1, while NEC falls to 1-1.
Keene State pulled away from NEC on the way to building a
commanding 25-point lead (45-20) at the break. Joe Shaw's (Concord,
N.H.) three-pointer at the 10:30 mark gave KSC a ten point lead
(23-13), and a driving lay-up by David Sontag (Mont Vernon, N.H.)
pushed the advantage up to 31-17 at the 6:06 mark of the first
half.
In addition to Sullivan, the Owls had two other players hit
double figures. Freshman Erik Schlacter (Marlborough, Mass.) added
14 points, and Sontag finished with 13 points to go with a
team-high six rebounds. Senior Harley Davis (Newburyport, Mass.)
dished out eight assists in the victory.
Freshman Ryan Jaziri (Norwich, Conn.) and sophomore Patrick
Quinn (Holbrook, N.Y.) led New England College with 16 points each.
Keene State plays at Southern Vermont College on Thursday (7
p.m.).
