'Boston, Mass. 02/28/04 - The Keene State College men's track
team tallied three points to finish 27th at the New England
Division III Championship held Saturday at Boston University in
Boston, Mass.
The University of Connecticut won the team title with 162
points.
KSC's three points came from, Dave Bridgewater (Unionville,
Conn.) who placed seventh in the 1-mile with a time of 4:14.33, and
Casey Cole (Southbury, Conn.) who finished eighth in the
1,000-meters (2:31.35). In Friday's trial race, Bridgewater
finished second in his heat with a NCAA provisional time of
4:13.18.
The women's track team placed 25th (five points) at the N.E.
Div. III Championship.
The University of Connecticut won with 112 points.
Laurie Yorgensen (Wethersfield, Conn.) scored the Owls only
points with a fifth place finish in the 800-meters (2:17.67).
In Friday's trial race, Yorgensen had a NCAA provisional time of
2:16.70.
In other events on Friday, Josh Ferenc (Westmoreland, N.H.)
placed ninth in the 5,000 with an NCAA provisional time of
14:49.89. The DMR team placed 11th also with a NCAA
provisional time of 10:16.07.
In the women's field, Nicole Geyselaers (Cheshire, Conn.)
qualified for the finals in the 55-meter dash (7.45). Shannon
O'Brien (Tilton, N.H.) also had a NCAA provisional time of 2:15.87
in the 800.
