TROY, N.Y. 9/15/04 - The Keene State College field hockey team
suffered its third consecutive loss, a 1-0 defeat to Rensselaer
Polytechnic Institute (R.P.I.) in Troy, N.Y. on Tuesday night.
Keene State falls to 1-3, while RPI improves to 2-2 with the
win.
Senior Sondra Sherman (Gaithersburg, MD) scored at the 20:38
mark in the first half and that would be enough to lead the Red
Hawks to victory.
KSC held a 17-7 shot advantage, but could not put the ball in
the net.
Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) and Michelle Codding (Jericho, VT)
split time in goal for the Owls. Joyce finished with one save. RPI
goalie Amanda Lund (Chester, Conn.) stopped eight shots in the win.
Keene State travels to Fitchburg State College on Saturday
(Noon).
