WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS. 09/23/04 - The Keene State College field
hockey team continues to struggle, dropping its fourth consecutive
shutout game, 3-0, to non-conference foe Williams College on the
road in Williamstown on Thursday.
The loss drops KSC to 1-4, while Williams improves to 4-0 on the
season.
Freshman Sarah Dupont (Easton, MD) scored off a feed from junior
Jaye Gregory (Greenwich, Conn.) in the first half to give the Ephs
a 1-0 halftime lead. Seniors Tara Boyd (New Canaan, Conn.) and
Crista Petrelli (Harrison, N.Y.) each added a goal in the second
half to give WC the 3-0 victory.
Junior Michelle Codding (Jericho, VT) (14 saves) and sophomore
Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) (nine saves) split time in goal for
KSC. Senior Wendy Stone (Buffalo, N.Y.) (one save), with late help
from sophomore Emily Wasserman (Englewood, CO) (0 saves) combined
to record the shutout for Williams.
Keene State will be at Plymouth State for its first LEC game of
the season on Saturday (12:30 p.m.).
