TROY, N.Y. 9/25/04 - The Keene State College volleyball team
posted an 0-2 record at this weekend's Russell Sage College
Tournament in Troy, N.Y.
Keene State (2-6) dropped a hard fought 3-2 match to the host
team, before St. Lawrence University swept them 3-0. The Owls lost
to Russell Sage 30-24, 30-24, 21-30, 23-30, and 13-15. Freshman
setter Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) dished out 55
assists, 14 digs, and five kills to lead the Owls. Junior outside
hitter Shelly Ellis (Hampton, N.H.) added 37 digs, 18 kills, and
two service aces, while junior Stacey Kroon (Bryantville, Mass.)
finished with 13 kills and five digs.
The game scores against St. Lawrence were 30-20, 32-30, and
31-29. Yankowski had another strong match with 22 assists, five
digs, three kills, and two service aces. Sophomore Genna Florkowski
(East Northport, N.Y.) contributed 13 kills, and 10 digs, and
freshman Ashley Brock (Rochester, N.Y.) finished with 19 digs.
Keene State travels to Eastern Connecticut State University for
an LEC match on Wednesday (6 p.m.).
