KEENE, N.H. 1/2/05- Tournament MVP Katy Emmons (Boxboro, Mass.) scored a season high 12 points and pulled down a game high 10 rebounds to lead the Keene State College women's basketball team to a 81-45 victory over Manhattanville College in the championship game of the "Ring in the New Year" tournament played Sunday at Spaulding Gym. It was the fourth straight win for KSC (8-2).

Brianne Barnes (Merrimack, N.H.) and Sarah Begnoche (Millville, Mass.) also had 12 points each while Megan Lane (Hawthorne, N.J.) added 11 points for the Owls. The Owls broke the game open with a 21-9 spurt at the end of the first half that gave them a 42-24 lead at the break.

Sarah Kinsley (Pearl River, N.Y.) had a game high 16 points and Kim Reznicek (Dobbs Ferry, N.Y.) had 10 points and eight rebounds to lead the Valiants (3-6).

Amanda Chapin (Westfield, Mass.) had 14 points, 17 rebounds and eight steals to lead Westfield State College to a 71-52 victory over Albany College of Pharmacy in the consolation game of the tournament.

Westfield State (4-5) pulled ahead 42-30 at halftime. All five starters for the Owls scored in double-figures in the game.

Randi Maurer (W. Leyden, N.Y.) had a game high 27 points for Albany College of Pharmacy (7-4). All-Tournament team: Randi Maurer (ACP), Kate Simonds (WSC), Sarah Kinsley (MC), Kait Herman (MC), Brianne Barnes (KSC), Katy Emmons (KSC); MVP Emmons (KSC).
