KEENE, N.H. 1/29/05 - Bekka Hopkins (Oxford, Mass.) and Stacey
Morse (Lebanon, N.H.) finished with 17 points each to lead the
Keene State College women's basketball team to a 70-39 Little East
Conference victory over UMass-Boston at Spaulding Gym on Saturday.
With the victory, KSC (12-7, 6-3 LEC) snapped its two game
losing streak. UMass-Boston (4-14, 1-7 LEC) has dropped its last

"I thought our intensity and focus was there for the whole
game," said KSC Coach Keith Boucher. "We also executed our offense
and played well at both ends of the court. We hit our first few
shots and our confidence built from there."
The Owls hit six of their first eight three-point attempts on
the way to opening up a 37-22 halftime lead. Hopkins had 14 first
half points including four three-pointers for KSC.
Sarah Begnoche's (Millville, Mass.) lay-up midway in the second
half extended the lead to 20 points as the Owls coasted to the
victory. Begnoche finished with 11 points and six rebounds.
Lydia Coverdale (Malden, Mass.) and Alicia Querusio
(Sommerville, Mass.) scored seven points each to lead the Beacons.
KSC had a 52-34 rebound advantage and held UMB to a 25% shooting
