'NORTH DARTMOUTH, MASS. 10/4/05 - Junior midfielder Amanda
Rosenbeck's (Wilder, Vt.) goal in double-overtime lifted Keene
State College to a 1-0 victory over UMass-Dartmouth in a Little
East Conference field hockey game played Tuesday afternoon in North
Dartmouth.
Rosenbeck's game-winner came on a penalty corner. Nicole
Garneau (Twin Mountain, N.H.) took the penalty corner for KSC, and
Rosenbeck steered her shot past Corsair junior goalkeeper Elizabeth
Fitzgerald (Danvers, MA). It was Rosenbeck's fifth goal of
the season.
KSC goalie Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) finished with 11 saves
to pick up her second shutout of the season. Fitzgerald made
20 saves for UMD. KSC out shot the Corsairs, 34-16.
Moving back to the .500 mark, KSC improves to 6-6 and 5-2 in
league play. It was the second straight shutout for the Owls.
UMD goes to 5-5 (2-3 LEC).
Keene State plays at 11th ranked Middlebury College on Sunday (2
p.m.).
