'AMHERST, MA - The Keene State College women's volleyball saw
its three match winning streak come to an end with a 30-18,
30-18, 30-10 non-conference loss to Amherst College on Wednesday
night.
Senior Shelly Ellis (Hampton, NH) paced Keene St. with seven
kills, while classmate Adrienne Deschnow (Portland, CT) tallied 10
digs as the Owls fell to 3-2 with the loss. Amherst improves
to 4-1 with the victory. Sophomore Jaclyn DeMais (Hillsdale,
NJ) led the way with 13 kills, 12 digs and three blocks.
Amherst dominated tempo from the start as first-year setter Sara
Heller (La Canada, CA) tallied two of her game-high four aces in
the opening service. She finished with 33 assists and four
kills, while junior Kristin Quinn (Los Angeles, CA) added 10 kills
and four blocks and sophomore Whitney Kouvaris (Jacksonville, FL)
tallied nine kills.
KSC travels to Plymouth State for Little East round-robin play
on Friday.
