'PLYMOUTH, N.H. 9/17/05 - The Keene State College women's
volleyball team posted wins over Southern Maine (3-0) and Western
Conn. (3-1) in Little East Conference Round-Robin play at Plymouth
State University on Saturday.
It was the first match victory by Keene State (5-3, 2-1 LEC)
over Western Conn. since joining the Conference in 1997. Prior to
today's match, the Owls were 0-10 against the Colonials and had won
just three games. WCSU are five-time LEC champs.
KSC defeated WCSU 30-25, 32-30, 26-30, and 30-24. Shelly
Ellis (Hampton, N.H.) had 15kills, 12 digs, and one block.
Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack , N.H.) added 12 kills, 20 digs and
three blocks and Chia Rowe (Brentwood, N.H.) finished with 13 kills
and four blocks.
The Owls swept Southern Maine (30-10, 30-22, 30-16) in their
earlier match.
O'Bryant finished with six kills and four digs while Brenna
Whaley (Bedford, N.H.) and Lauren Graham (Port Jefferson Station,
N.Y.) had four kills each.
Keene State (5-3, 2-1 LEC) is at Colby-Sawyer College on Tuesday
(7 p.m.).
