'KEENE, N.H. 1/31/06 - Tyler Kathan (Ludlow, Vt.) had 17 points
and Anthony Licitra (Glastonbury, Conn.) came off the bench to
scored 16 points, hitting four three-pointers to lead Keene State
College to a 116-57 victory over Mitchell College of New London,
Conn., in a non-conference men's basketball game played at
Spaulding Gym on Tuesday night. It was the first meeting
between the two teams on the court.
Winners of three straight, KSC improves to 14-5 while Mitchell
College (6-14) had its five game winning streak come to an end.
Keene State, which led from start to finish, opened up a 57-33
halftime lead. The Owls shot 62% percent from the field
(20-32), hit half of their three-pointers (6-12), and didn't miss a
free throw shot (11-11) in the first half.
Matt Hickey (Mahopac, N.Y.) added 12 points and five assists and
Ken McCalmon (Hamden, Conn.) finished with a career-best 10 points
for the Owls who held a 54-22 rebound advantage.
All 18 Owl players saw action in the game.
James Dunleavy led the Pequots with 11 points.
Keene State travels to UMass-Boston on Saturday for key
conference game between the LEC's two top teams.
