'GORHAM, Maine - The Keene State women's volleyball team split a
pair of matches against Rhode Island College and Southern
Maine in Little East Conference round robin play Saturday afternoon
at Hill Gymnasium on USM's Gorham campus. The Owls lost a tough
five game match to Rhode island College 3-2 (30-22, 28-30, 30-16,
18-30 and 11-15) before coming back to sweep USM 3-0 (30-17, 30-18
and 30-21).
Keene State sophomore outside hitter Brittany O'Bryant
(Merrimack, N.H./Merrimack) and freshman setter Jordan Pokryfki
(Wasilla, Alaska/Colony) had six kills each to lead the Owls over
Southern Maine. Pokryfki also has a team-high 11 assists in the
win, while sophomore Caitlyn Hockenbury (Sunapee, N.H./Sunapee)
added 11 digs and three kills.
In the match against Rhode Island College, O'Bryant had a
match-high 18 kills in the loss to compliment her five blocks.
Keene State travels to Worcester State on Tuesday (October 24)
for its next contest at 6 p.m.
