'KEENE, N.H. 10/27/06 - Six players scored goals as Keene State
College rolled to a 6-0 shutout victory over St. Joseph's College
of Maine in a non-conference field hockey game played Friday night
at Owl Athletic Complex.
Amanda Wirzbicki (Gardner, Mass.), Steph Georgevits (Concord,
N.H.), and Jess Mirisola (Tewsbury, Mass.) scored first half goals
for the Owls. Mirisola's goal came on a penalty stroke with
no time remaining.
Alyssa Rowell (Queensbury, N.Y.), Kat Trimmer (Worcester,
Mass.), and Liz Rand (Peterborough, N.H.) added second half goals.
Rand's goal was her first of college goal.
Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) and Jennifer McDougall (Avon,
Conn.) combined on the shutout for the Owls (14-4), who won their
sixth consecutive game. McDougall had one save.
Karrie Sirois (Thomaston, Me.) stopped 15 shots for the Monks
(6-10).
It was the first meeting between the two teams.
Keene State wraps up its regular season on Sunday (11 a.m.) with
a LEC game against Salem State College.
