'KEENE, N.H.  10/31/06 -The fourth seeded Keene State College women's volleyball team swept fifth seed Western Conn. State University 3-0  (30-28, 30-24, 30-23) in a first-round Little East Conference tournament match played at Spaulding Gym on Tuesday night.

Keene State (23-12) will play top seed Eastern Conn. at Willimantic, Conn. on Friday.  Western Conn. concludes its season with a 9-15 record.

Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack, NH) led the Owls with 14 kills and 14 digs. Mia Silvestri (Marietta, GA) chipped in with 12 kill, and Kelly Yankowski (Tuners Fall, Mass.) helped out the offense with 16 kills.  Jordon Porkryfki (Wasilla, AK) set the Owls up with 37 assists. 

Gretchen Olson (Marlborough, Conn.) had 15 kills and Christina Bell (Prospect, Conn.) finished with 20 digs for the Colonials.

Keene State made a first-ever appearance in the LEC finals last season.
