'PLYMOUTH, N.H. - Junior Sarah Begnoche (Millville, Mass.)
recorded a game-high 17 points and nine rebounds Tuesday evening to
lead the Keene State College women's basketball team to a 71-54
victory over rival Plymouth State University in a Little East
Conference match-up at Foley Gymnasium.
Begnoche had nine points and seven rebounds in the first half as
the visitors raced to a 39-16 lead at the break. The Owls
maintained a 20-point advantage most of the second half, cruising
to the victory. Keene State improves to 15-9 overall and 9-4
in the LEC, while PSU drops to 10-13 overall and 5-8 in conference
play.
The Owls also got 13 points from senior Stacey Morse (Lebanon,
N.H.) and 10 points from sophomore Danielle Graveley (Schenectady,
N.Y.) Senior Bekka Hopkins (Oxford, Mass.) chipped in with
nine points and nine boards, and junior Bri Barnes (Merrimack,
N.H.) handed out eight assists.
Plymouth State was led by junior Ashley White (Merrimack, N.H.)
and freshman Kayla Morin (Pascoag, R.I.), who scored nine points
apiece. Freshman Janelle Chiles (North Andover, Mass.) added
eight points for the hosts.
Keene State shot 44 percent for the game, while PSU connected at
just a 32 percent clip. The Owls dominated the boards by a
48-32 count.
Both teams wrap up the regular season at 1:00 p.m. this
Saturday, Keene State visiting top-ranked Southern Maine and
Plymouth State hosting Eastern Connecticut.
