'FRAMINGHAM, MASS. 09/16/06 - The Keene State College
field hockey team shutout Framingham State College 3-0 to give
Coach Amy Watson her 200th career victory on Saturday.
Watson, in her 17th season coaching the Owls, has a career
record of 200-113-11.
"It just shows how long I've been doing this," said
Watson. "The victory was double sweet because it was a
conference win and a shutout."
Keene State took a 2-0 half time lead on goals by Amanda
Wirzbicki (Gardner, Mass.) and Amanda Rosenbeck (Wilder, Vt.).
Alyssa Rowell (Queensbury, N.Y.) added an insurance goal in the
second half.
It was the third straight shutout win for KSC (4-2, 2-0
LEC).Sara Joyce (Hampstead, N.H.) finished with six saves.
Jennifer McDougall (Avon, Conn.) played the final five minutes in
goal.
Lindsay McKearney stopped eight shots for the Rams (1-4, 0-2
LEC).
Keene State will be at Williams College on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
