'KEENE, N.H. 9/19/06 - Colby-Sawyer College overcame a two
game deficit to post a hard fought 3-2 win over Keene State College
in a non-conference women's volleyball match held at Spaulding Gym
on Tuesday night.
Trailing 30-26, 30-21 after the first two games, the Chargers
regrouped to take the next three games 30-17, 31-29, and 15-12.
Despite the loss, senior Genna Florkowski (East Northport, N.Y.)
finished with 29 digs to set an Owl career digs record (1,131). She
broke the record set by Shelly Ellis (1,115) set last season.
Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) led KSC with 20 kills, six
digs, and one block. Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.)
added 23 assists, and Sarah Apold (Oakdale, Minn.) finished with
nine kills, four digs, and two blocks.
Taylor Forsberg (Moultonborough, N.H.) topped CSC (6-3)with 20
kills and 20 digs. Jessica Niebuhr (Manitou Springs, Co,) had
16 kills and 19 digs, Genny Moore (Centerville, Mass.) contributed
14 kills and 11 digs, and Jackie Burnett (Portsmouth, N.H.)
finished with 26 digs.
Keene State (10-4) travels to Willimantic on Saturday for LEC
matches against Eastern Conn. and UMass-Boston.
