'WILLIMANTIC, CONN. 9/23/06 - The Keene State College women's
volleyball team split its two Little East Conference matches at
Eastern Conn. State University on Saturday.
After dropping their first match 3-0 (24-30, 18-30, 22-30) to
Eastern Conn., the Owls came back to defeat UMass-Boston in four
games 3-1 (30-17, 30-24, 28-30, and 30-15).
Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) had 12 kills, three blocks,
and nine digs against ECSU in the rematch of last year's LEC
championship game. Mia Silvestri (Herrick Center, Pa.) and
Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, Mass.) added six kills each.
O'Bryant had 16 kills, three blocks, and 10 digs and Abby Rosen
(Andover, Conn.) finished with a season high 14 kills in the win
over UMass-Boston.
Eastern Conn. (9-5, 4-0 LEC) won both of its matches over UMB
(8-7, 0-2 LEC) and KSC (11-5, 3-1 LEC) to move ahead of the Owls in
the LEC standings.
Keene State returns home to face Norwich on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
