'KEENE, N.H. 09/30/06 - The Keene State women's volleyball
team post non-conference victories over Clark University and
Westfield State College in a tri-meet held at Spaulding Gym on
Saturday.
The Owls defeat Clark 3-1 (30-24; 30-16; 30-27, and 30-11) and
swept Westfield State 3-0 (30-19, 30-24, and 30-17). Brittany
O'Bryant (Merrimack, NH) had 15 kills 14 digs, and 2 blocks and
Kelly Yankowski (Turners Falls, MA) added 14 kills and 23 assists,
and Genna Florkowski (East Northport, NY) finished with 20 digs
against Clark.
In the match, Florkowski broke her own season dig record (348).
Sarah Hunsucker (Orinda, CA) and Margo Labadorf (Columbia, CT)
had 12 kills each for the Cougars.
In the match against Westfield, O'Bryant led the charge with 19
kills, 11 digs, and 4 blocks. Yankowski had 8 kills and 9
digs and Jordan Porkryfki (Wasilla, AK) tallied 9 kills and 25
assists. Stephanie Bartkus (N. Merrick, NY) and Lindsay
Dalene (E. Hartland, CT) had 7 kills each for the visiting Owls
(7-8).
Westfield defeated Clark 3-0 (30-10, 30-19, 30-12) in the second
match of the day. Lindsay Dalene led WSC with 16 kills while
Liberio Krista Grifoni led the defense with 20 digs.
Stephanie Bartkus followed with 11 kills and Morgan Hosking had
seven kills. Cougar outside hitter Karleen Porcena had six
kills while Sarah Hunsucker followed with 5 kills. Defensive
specialist EmilyVisone had 9 digs.
Keene State (15-5) will travel to long time rival Plymouth State
University on Tuesday (6 p.m.).
