FITCHBURG, Mass. 10/20/07 - Sophomore midfielder Erin
Dallas (Marlow, NH/Keene) scored twice and goaltender Jennifer
McDougall (Avon, Conn.) made one save in Keene State College's 4-0
Little East Conference field hockey victory over Fitchburg State at
Elliot Field on Saturday.
The Owls, who have won four straight and maintain their lead in the
LEC, improve to 12-5 overall and 8-1 in the LEC, while the
Falcons dropped to 2-14 overall and 0-10 in the LEC.
Dallas gave KSC a 1-0 lead six minutes into the game to account for
the only scoring in the first half. Keene State took a 2-0
lead in the 44th minute when Carly Benning (Brewster, MA/Nauset
Regional) found the back of the cage on a feed from Samantha
Blanchard (Amesbury, MA/Bishop Fenwick) for her team leading 10th
goal of the season.. The Falcons looked to cut the lead to 2-1 on a
Casey Buczek (Bridgewater, MA/Bridgewater-Raynham) shot that went
into the net, but the goal was called back because she was
apparently outside the shooters' circle.
The Owls wasted little time capitalizing on the non-goal, pushing
their lead to 3-0 when Erin Dallas scored her second goal of the
game less than two minutes later (at the 59th minute). It was her
eighth goal this season.
Keene State wrapped up the scoring in the 66th minute when Karen
Robinson (Phillipston, MA/Quabbin Regional) beat Taylor Begin
(Haverhill, MA/Haverhill) to the near post.
Owls' goalie Jennifer McDougall (Avon, CT/Avon) finished with a
save for her fourth shutout of the season.Emily Creen (Worcester,
MA/Holy Name) made six stops of her own and Begin, who played the
final nine minutes finished with one save as well.

State on Wednesday (6 p.m.).
