BRIDGEWATER, MASS. 10/26/07 - The Keene State College
women's volleyball team won a pair of matches at Bridgewater
State's Halloween Classic on Friday night.
The Owls defeated Worcester State 3-0 (30-19, 31-29, and 30-25) and
then posted a 3-2 win over the host Bridgewater Bears 3-2 (31-33,
30-22, 30-20, 29-31, and 15-4).
KSC had a balanced attacked against WSC with sophomore middle
blocker Amanda Sawyer Billerica, Mass.) leading the way with nine
kills and three blocks. Sophomore hitter Abby Rosen (Hebron,
Conn.) had nine kills, Chia Rowe (Exeter, N.H.) added seven kills
and three blocks, and freshman setter Sara Struble (East Hampton,
N.Y.) finishing with 30 assists.
Sophomore Carly Newton (Centerville, Mass.) tied a KSC record with
24 kills against Bridgewater State. She also added four blocks.
Junior middle blocker Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) had 18
kills and four blocks, senior hitter Kelly Yankowski (Turners
Falls,, Mass.) contributed eight kills and 17 digs, freshman libero
Jamie Levine (Medfield, Mass.) added 24 digs and sophomore setter
Jordan Pokryfki (Wasila, Ak.) added 53 assists.
KSC (22-10) plays Hunter College and Framingham State at the BSC
Classic on Saturday
