KEENE, N.H. 9/1/07 - The Keene State field hockey team ignited
for four unanswered second half goals on the way to
posting a season opening 6-2 win over Nichols College at Owl
Athletic Complex on Saturday.
Playing her first game for KSC after transferring from the
University of Michigan, sophomore midfielder Erin Dallas (Marlow,
N.H.) led the Owls' attack with two goals and two assists.
Carly Benning (Brewster, Mass.), Marissa Boccaccio (Lyme, Conn.),
Kat Trimmer (Hanover, N.H.), and Heather McDougall (Avon, Conn.)
also found the back of the net for KSC.
Amber Cottrell (Hoosick Falls, N.Y.) scored both Bison
goals.
Making her first start in goal for the Owls, senior goalie
Jennifer McDougall made three saves. MaryKate Bednarz
(Springfield, Mass.) stopped five shots for Nichols (0-1).
Keene State hosts Springfield College on Wednesday (7 p.m.).
