STANDISH, ME. 9/20/07 - The Keene State made the long trip to
Maine worthwhile by picking up a 2-0 victory over St.
Joseph's College on Thursday. The Owls scored a goal in each half
to secure the win and improve to 4-3 overall, while the Monks also
hold a 4-3 record.
Snapping a two game losing streak, Keene State scored their first
goal at 21:28 after SO Karen Robinson (Phillipston, MA) found JR
Amanda Wright (Shelburne, MA) on a penalty corner. SO Carly Benning
(Brewster, MA) gave the Owls an insurance goal at 51:15.
SJC keeper FY Kathleen Simoes (Wakefield, MA) had six saves and
SR Jennifer McDougall (Avon, CT) had five saves for Keene for her
second shutout of the season.
Keene State hosts Bridgewater State in an LEC game on Saturday
at 1:30 PM.
