WORCESTER, MASS. 9/29/07 - The Keene State women's volleyball
team extended its winning streak to six matches with non-conference
victories over host Clark University and Westfield State in
Worcester on Saturday.
The Owls (13-6) won both matches by 3-0 scores. KSC defeated
Clark 30-16, 30-11, 30-27 and Westfield State 30-15, 30-19, and
30-13.
Junior middle-hitter Brittany O'Bryant (Merrimack, N.H.) was a
perfect eight-for-eight in kill opportunities against Clark and had
14 kills vs. Westfield State. Senior hitter Kelly Yankowski
(Turners Falls, Mass.) finished with seven kills against Clark and
eight kills, 12 digs, and three blocks vs. WSC. Sophomore
hitter Carly Newton (Barnstable, Mass.) had seen kills against
Clark and eight kills and three blocks against Westfield.
Junior libero Sarah Peterson (Danville, N.H.) led the Owls' defense
with 17 digs against Clark and 18 digs against Westfield.
KSC returns home for a key LEC match against Plymouth State on
Tuesday (6 p.m.).
