KEENE, N.H. 11/1/08 - Keene State men's and women's swim teams
posted dual meet victories over Colby-Sawyer College at Spaulding
Gym Pool on Saturday.
The KSC men (2-0) remained undefeated with a 159-91 victory while
the Owl women (1-1) prevailed 173-88 to post their first win of the
season.
Both Owl teams won all 16 events in their respective meets.
Sophomores Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.),
Karl Balinski (Waterford, Conn.) and freshman
Colin Daly (Cromwell, Conn.) were triple-winners
for the Owls. Pennoyer won the 50 fly (24.93), 100 fly
(54.43), and the 100 IM (58.68). Balinski posted wins in the
50 free (23.31), 100 free (51.62), and the 200 free
(1:52.01). Daly prevailed in the 50 back (27.65), the 100
back (57.65), and the 200 IM (2:10.04).
Sophomore DJ Collis (Laconia, N.H.) won the 50
breast (31.14) and the 100 breast (1:08.08) and sophomore
Tim Thornton (Fairfield, Conn.) won both one-meter
(207 points) and three-meter (203 points) diving events.
On the women's side, junior Kristine Trutor
(Holden, Mass.) won three races for the Owls. She topped the field
in the 50 back (28.88), the 100 back (1:02.74), and the 100 IM
(1:05.91).
Junior Alea Paddock (Newbury, N.H.) won the 100
breast (1:12.18) and the 200 free (2:05.34), freshman
Jillian Whitaker (Gilford, N.H.) won the 50 breast
(33.38) and the 100 free (58.01), freshman Maureen
O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.) won the 50 fly (28.50) and the 100
fly (1:02.98), junior Jackie Foster (Bedford,
N.H.) won the 50 free (25.99) and the 500 free (5:28.11), and
sophomore diver Rachael Battis (Beacon Falls,
Conn.) won the one-meter (165.60 points) and three-meter (149.30
points) events.
The Keene State men swim at Boston College on Sunday (12 p.m.).
