WORCESTER, MASS. 11/8/08 - Keene State College men's and
women's swim/dive teams posted dual meet victories over WPI at
Clark University on Saturday.
The KSC men improved to 3-1 with a 171-129 win. The Owl women
are now 2-1 after beating the Engineers 140-106.
Junior Domingo Rose (Nashua, N.H.), and
sophomores Dan Theleen (Southbury, Conn.), and
Connor Pennoyer (Norwalk, Conn.) were
double-winners for the Owls. Rose won the 100 (1:03.06) and
200 breast (2:21.30), Theleen won the 500 (4:58.09) and 1,000
(10:13.29) free, and Pennoyer won the 50 (24.60) and 100 Fly
(54.12).
Sophomore Tim Thornton (Fairfield, Conn.) won
the one-meter diving even t (193.40 points) and freshman
Derek Peabody (Haverhill, Mass.) on the
three-meter event (187.10 points).
The Owl women had a couple of double-winners. Junior
Kristine Trutor (Holden, Mass.) won the 100 back
(1:02.49) and the 200 back (2:16.15), and freshman Jillian
Whitaker (Gilford, N.H.) won the 100 free (55.60) and the
200 free (2:04.28). Junior Jackie Foster (Bedford, N.H.) won
the 50 free (26.05), sophomore Jessica Laidley
(Brockton, Mass.) won the 1,000 free (11:28.49), freshman
Maureen O'Leary (Nashua, N.H.) won the 100 fly
(1:04.19), and freshman Meghan Wilson (Torrington,
Conn.) won the 100 breast (1:15.04).
The Keene State men travel to the University of Vermont next
Saturday for a meet that includes the University of Maine.
